Which iLiftz® Style Is Right for You?

iLiftz® is available in both silicone and nylon styles. Both use counterbalance to help reduce pressure on your nose, but the best choice depends on your glasses and comfort preferences.

For most eyewear, silicone is a great place to start. Nylon may be a better choice for heavier eyewear, wider eyeglass arms, or when you prefer additional cushioning around your ears.

Silicone iLiftz®

A great starting point for most eyewear

Silicone iLiftz® offer a sleek, low-profile option that's easy to clean. Choose from Cozy Socks or the Cozy Strap depending on the style you prefer.

Silicone may be a good choice if:

      • Your eyeglass arms are 3–12 mm wide
      • You prefer a sleek, low-profile style
      • You want an easy-to-clean option
      • You don't need built-in cushioning around your ears

Need more ear comfort? Cozy Ear Cushions can be paired with silicone iLiftz® for added cushioning.

Nylon iLiftz®

Extra cushioning and options for heavier eyewear

Nylon iLiftz® combine counterbalance with soft cushioning and are available as Cushion Socks or the Power-Lift Strap.

Nylon may be a good choice if:

    • Your eyeglass arms are too wide for silicone Cozy Socks
    • Your glasses are heavier
    • You prefer soft cushioning around your ears
    • You need stronger counterbalance — the Power-Lift Strap provides the best counterbalance.

Choose Your Counterbalance Weight

The weight of your glasses is the best starting point for choosing your iLiftz® weight. If possible, weigh your glasses on a small kitchen or postal scale.

Use the chart below as a starting point. The goal is to reduce pressure on your nose while keeping your glasses in a comfortable position for your vision.

Weight of Glasses Starting iLiftz® Weight
Less than .5 oz ¼ oz
.5 - .8 oz ½ oz
.8 - 1.5 oz ¾ oz
More than 1.5 oz 1 oz or more

Your glasses do not need to completely lift off your nose. Most people find the best fit when iLiftz® reduces the pressure while their glasses remain comfortably positioned for clear vision. Need more sizing details? View the full Size Chart.

Getting the Best Fit

Small adjustments can make a big difference. Once you've chosen your iLiftz® style and weight, proper positioning is important. If you're not getting the comfort or lift you expected, a few simple adjustments may help.

Check the Fit of Your Eyeglass Arms

Many eyeglass arms are curved behind the ears and may also curve inward toward the head to help prevent glasses from slipping. With iLiftz®, too much curve can interfere with counterbalance and may also create unnecessary pressure.

If your glasses pull toward your face instead of lifting: The arms may curve downward too sharply behind your ears. Straighter arms provide better leverage, allowing the counterbalance to redistribute more of the weight away from your nose.

If the arms squeeze the sides of your head: They may curve inward too tightly. Because iLiftz® counterbalance also helps prevent slipping, this tight fit may not be necessary.

Have your eyeglass arms straightened for better lift and comfort. Many frames can be adjusted fairly easily with heat, although the best method depends on the frame material. Check with an optician if you're unsure how your frames should be adjusted.

If You Feel Pressure Around Your Ears

Your iLiftz® should feel comfortable behind your ears. If you're using silicone Cozy Socks, the silicone sleeve does not need to rest directly on your ear.

Try sliding the Cozy Socks farther down the eyeglass arms so the silicone isn't touching your ears. If needed, the silicone sleeve can also be trimmed shorter.

Want additional cushioning? Cozy Ear Cushions can be paired with silicone iLiftz® for extra comfort around the ears.

If you prefer soft cushioning built into your iLiftz®, a nylon option may be a better fit (Cushion Socks or Power-Lift Strap).

Allow the Counterbalance to Do Its Job

iLiftz® works by using counterbalance to help redistribute the weight of your glasses away from your nose. For the counterbalance to work properly, your glasses need to be able to move slightly.

If your nose pads pinch: Nose pads that are squeezed too tightly against your nose can prevent the glasses from responding to the counterbalance. Adjusting them slightly wider can help relieve pressure and allow iLiftz® to work more effectively.

If your glasses squeeze your head: Eyeglass arms that fit too tightly against your temples can also restrict movement and interfere with counterbalance. Loosen the fit slightly to allow the iLiftz® counterbalance to do its job.

Remember, iLiftz® counterbalance also helps prevent slipping, so your glasses don't need to grip your nose or the sides of your head as tightly to stay in place.
